Marina Vlady was the sister of actresses Odile Versois and Helene Vallier; her father was a noted artist of Russian heritage. Like her siblings, she began acting in childhood and for a while pursued a ballet career. Projecting a more sensual, alluring image than her sisters, she gained international renown (and a Cannes Festival award) for her work in 1963's The Conjugal Bed. One of her few English roles was Kate Percy in Orson Welles' Chimes at Midnight. Her TV credits include the 1983 mini series La Chambre des Dames. Marina Vlady was at one time the wife of actor/director Robert Hossein.
