Maple Leaf (Amtrak)
|
The Maple Leaf is a train operated jointly by VIA Rail and Amtrak from New York's Pennsylvania Station to Toronto via the New York state cities of Albany, Syracuse, Rochester, and Buffalo. The train travels during the day and takes approximately 12 hours for the 544 mile (875 km) journey. Around two hours of this is required for border controls at Niagara Falls. A change of locomotive is made at Albany.
Before the creation of the two national carriers, the Maple Leaf was a route operated by Grand Trunk Western and Canadian National between Toronto and Chicago, Illinois.
