Major may mean:
- Major, a military rank.
- An academic major, the primary focus of a Bachelor's degree, in the US and some other countries.
- In music, major can refer to a scale, chord, or interval, in contrast to minor. See major scale, major chord, major third, major sixth, relative minor/major, parallel minor/major.
- In British public school terminology, "major" means an older brother or sister (when two people have the same surname), as opposed to "minor".
- A major in golf is one of the four or five most important yearly tournaments. In the United States, the PGA TOUR and LPGA tour have four majors, while the Champions Tour for golfers 50 and over has five. All other top-level men's tours worldwide recognize the same four majors as the PGA TOUR. The LPGA Tour for women also has four majors.
- In English Change Ringing, Major refers to a ringing method rung on eight church bells.
