Lynn Bowering

Lynn Bowering was an unsuccessful candidate for election to the Canadian House of Commons in the 2004 federal election in Canada. She was the New Democratic Party candidate in the riding of Brant, Ontario.
Bowering grew up in Ottawa and Kingston before travelling to England, where she attended high school. She worked as an assistant to the Labour Party Member of Parliament in British Parliament during the 1970s.
She returned to Canada, where she worked within the municipal government and taught at a community college. She has since served as Executive Director of the Grand River District Health Council, Chief Operating Officer of the Ontario Women's Health Council and as a member of several labour unions. She has also been involved with the United Way, the Brant Early Years Steering Committee, the Rotary Club and a woman's shelter.
She received her Bachelor of Arts and Masters degrees in social planning from Queen's University in Kingston.
