Lucette Michaux-Chevry

Lucette Michaux-Chevry is the current head of the Regional council of the French overseas department of Guadeloupe.
She was born on March 5, 1929, and has completed law studies at Sorbonne university in Paris, France. She has been elected to the post of President in 1992 for the first time, then reelected in January 1993, and in 1995 she was elected Mayor of Basse-Terre. In 1995, French president Jacques Chirac named her his advisor.
In 1998, she entered yet another term in the office of President of Regional council.
She is a mother of two.
