The Lowiaceae are a family of monocot flowering plants, part of order Zingiberales. The family includes a single genus (Orchidantha); the genera Lowia, Protamomum, and Wolfia are now generally included in genus Orchidantha.
Orchidantha is a poorly known genus, with 5-10 species indigeous to the Indomalaya ecozone, including Indochina, southern China, and Borneo.
Orchidantha means "Orchid-flower", as one of the petals on the flowers is modified into a labellum, like the flowers of orchids. One species, Orchidantha inouei of Borneo, imitates the scent of dung in order to attract small Onthophagus dung beetles as pollinators.zh:蘭花蕉科
