Livonia is a town located in Livingston County, New York. As of the 2000 census, the town had a total population of 7,286.
The Town of Livonia contains a village, also called Livonia. The town is on the eastern border of the county.

History
The town was established in 1808 from the Town of Richmond (then the Town of Pittstown).
Geography
The east town line is the border of Ontario County, New York, partly defined by Honeoye Creek. Most of Conesus Lake makes up the western part of town and Hemlock Lake is in the south part of the town.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 106.2 km² (41.0 mi²). 99.2 km² (38.3 mi²) of it is land and 7.0 km² (2.7 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 6.61% water.
Demographics
As of the census2 of 2000, there are 7,286 people, 2,693 households, and 1,992 families residing in the town. The population density is 73.5/km² (190.3/mi²). There are 3,004 housing units at an average density of 30.3/km² (78.4/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 97.75% White, 0.51% Black or African American, 0.32% Native American, 0.34% Asian, 0.01% Pacific Islander, 0.10% from other races, and 0.97% from two or more races. 0.81% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 2,693 households out of which 39.1% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 59.7% are married couples living together, 10.0% have a female householder with no husband present, and 26.0% are non-families. 19.9% of all households are made up of individuals and 7.3% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.68 and the average family size is 3.10.
In the town the population is spread out with 29.4% under the age of 18, 5.9% from 18 to 24, 30.9% from 25 to 44, 24.0% from 45 to 64, and 9.9% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 37 years. For every 100 females there are 97.4 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 95.1 males.
The median income for a household in the town is $51,197, and the median income for a family is $55,382. Males have a median income of $40,800 versus $30,578 for females. The per capita income for the town is $19,967. 5.3% of the population and 2.6% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total population, 6.7% of those under the age of 18 and 3.5% of those 65 and older are living below the poverty line.
