Little Women is the 1994 film version of the classic Louisa May Alcott novel, Little Women. It was adapted by Robin Swicord and directed by Gillian Armstrong.
The movie stars Winona Ryder as Jo, Gabriel Byrne as Friedrich Bhaer, Trini Alvarado as Meg, Samantha Mathis and Kirsten Dunst as Amy at various ages, Claire Danes as Beth, Christian Bale as Laurie, Eric Stoltz as John Brooke, John Neville as Mr. Lawrence, Mary Wickes as Aunt March and Susan Sarandon as "Marmie".
It was nominated for Academy Awards for Best Actress in a Leading Role (Winona Ryder), Best Costume Design and Best Music, Original Score (Thomas Newman).
