Little Cumbrae

Little Cumbrae is a small island of 3.13 square kilometres in the lower Firth of Clyde. It neighbours the island of Great Cumbrae and faces the town of Largs on the Scottish mainland.
Its highest point is the central Lighthouse Hill at a height of 123 m (403 ft). Prior to the creation of an automated beacon on the Scottish coast, Little Cumbrae had an open fire lighthouse there. Today the island's main building is Cumbrae House on the eastern shore.
Little Cumbrae has been privately purchased in 2003 and is to be developed as a memorial park and nature reserve. Although the island is occasionally populated by the owner and his family, it is more widely known for its huge rabbit population.
