Literary Machines

Literary Machines is a book by Ted Nelson, published in 1982, describing his Project Xanadu. He develops fascinating ideas such as Tumblers, for addressing bits in files past and present, transclusion as a method for including original work in one's own work, and micropayments to pay for the use.
The publisher Eastgate (http://www.eastgate.com) has reprinted this book that was first printed in Nelson's own publishing house, Mindful Press.
