This is a list of best-selling singles in the United Kingdom. "Do They Know It's Christmas?", "Unchained Melody" and "Mary's Boy Child" all appear twice.

In November 2002, to mark the 50th anniversary of the first British singles chart, The Official UK Charts Company issued the following list of Britain's best-selling singles since 1952. In the three years since, three songs have entered the top 100: "Mysterious Girl" – Peter Andre, "Do They Know It's Christmas" – Band Aid 20 and "Is This the Way to Amarillo" – Tony Christie. "It's Now Or Never" by Elvis Presley moved up several places due to a 2005 rerelease. Audited sales figures to the end of September 2002 are given in brackets.
