Les Trois Vallées or the three valleys is a ski region in the Savoie département of France, near the town of Moûtiers and within the Vanoise National Park and the Tarentaise.
Since 1973 it has been possible to ski the interlinked valleys using a single ski pass, making it one the largest ski areas in the World, with around 600 km of pistes (370 miles of trails) and 200 ski lifts.
The area originally consisted of three valleys, as implied by its name; the Allues valley (with the ski resorts of Méribel and Motteret); the Saint-Bon valley (Courchevel, la Tania, le Praz); and the Belleville valley (Les Menuires Val Thorens, St-Martin-de-Belleville). The skiing has since been extended into the Maurienne valley, involving a long Gondola lift from Orelle.
