Leiderdorp

Leiderdorp (population: 26,182 in 2004) is a town in the western Netherlands, in the province of South Holland next to the city of Leiden. The municipality covers an area of 12.16 km2 (of which 0.57 km2 is water). Leiderdorp has now become a suburb of the city of Leiden, although the Zijl river cuts between the two. The HSL-Zuid High-speed rail line is currently being built under Leiderdorp to carry French Thalys trains going between Amsterdam and Brussels.
