Lee Hall (playwright)

Lee Hall (born 1966 Newcastle upon Tyne) is a British playwright often associated with the movement referred to as in-yer-face theatre.
Some of his stage plays, such as Spoonface Steinberg, are adaptations of his own radio plays. He wrote the original screenplay for the 2000 movie Billy Elliot. Hall has also translated plays, notably by Carlo Goldoni (A Servant of Two Masters) and Bertolt Brecht (Mother Courage and Her Children).
