La Belle (discotheque)
|
La Belle is the name of a disco in Berlin, Germany which was attacked with a bomb on April 5, 1986. Two U.S. soldiers and a Turkish woman died.
A Berlin state court sentenced the four culprits in November 2001. The main culprit Verena Chaanaa was convicted to 14 years of jail for three murders and attempted murder. Yassir Chraidi, Musbah Eter, and Ali Chanaa were convicted to 14 and 12 years of prison respectively. The judges ruled that the State of Libya had a partly responsibility for the attack. Musbah Eter had allegedly worked for the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). The inquiries against another suspect - Mossad agent Mohammed Assad Ameiri - were closed for opaque reasons.
