Kvinesdal is a municipality in the county of Vest-Agder, Norway. It is a coastal municipality, barely reaching the North Sea in the south. In the west it borders on Flekkefjord and Sirdal municipalities, and Åseral, Hægebostad, Lyngdal and Flekkefjord in the east and south. It also borders on Aust-Agder county in the north.
The municipality has its name from the river Kvina, which runs through it. The name means 'Kvina-valley'.
10% of the inhabitants of Kvinesdal are American citizens, and Kvinesdal does enjoy a special relationship with the United States. Every year the municipality host a special festival remembering the days when local people immigrated to the new world.
The river Kvina is known for its salmon, and salmon fishing is a popular activity.
