Template:Koreanname noimage The Korean National Railroad, now known as Korail, is the national railroad operator in South Korea.
The KNR operates passenger and freight trains troughout South Korea. The railroad's headquarters (Cheoldocheong (철도청; 鐵道廳)) are located in Yongsan-gu, a district of Seoul.
Korail also operates 7 commuter lines around Seoul: the Gyeongbu Line (Seoul-Cheonan), the Gyeongin Line (Guro-Incheon), the Gyeongwon Line (Yongsan-Uijeongbu), the Ansan Line (Geumjeong-Oido), the Gwacheon Line (Namtaeryeong-Geumjeong), the Bundang Line (Seonneung-Bojeong), and the Ilsan Line (Jichuk-Daehwa). KNR covers a total of 104 stations with its 150 trains. The operation intervals are from 1.7 -8 minutes during rush hours and 3.6 -12 minutes during non-rush hours. An average of 2,177,000 people use Korail's commuter lines everyday.
