The Kerlingarfjöll (1477 m), a mountain range in Iceland, are situated in the Highlands of Iceland near Kjölur highland road.
They are known for the possibility of summer skiing.
On the other hand, the volcanic origin can be seen in the numerous hot springs and rivulets. And indeed, they are part of a big volcano system of 100 km/2.
The earth is shimmering red because of the ryolith stone it is made of.
