Kerkhoven is a city located in Swift County, Minnesota, roughly 100 miles west from the Twin Cities region of Minneapolis/St. Paul along U.S. Highway 12. It was incorporated as a city in 1881, largely due to the railroad recently built there. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 759.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 1.9 km² (0.7 mi²). 1.9 km² (0.7 mi²) of it is land and none of it is covered by water.
