Ken Reid

Ken Reid (18 December 1919 - 2 February 1987) was a British artist and writer.
Starting off by drawing 'The Adventures of Fudge the Elf' for the Manchester Evening News from 1938 to 1961, in 1953 he began work at D. C. Thomson & Co. Ltd, drawing:
- Roger the Dodger (Beano)
- Little Angel Face (Dandy)
- Grandpa (Beano)
- Bing-Bang Benny (Dandy)
- Jonah (Beano)
- Ali Ha-Ha and the 40 Thieves (Dandy)
- Big Head and Thick Head (Dandy)
- Jinx (Beano)
He left DC Thomson for Odhams Press in 1964, and later IPC Magazines from 1969. During this time he drew strips including:
- Frankie Stein (Wham!)
- Jasper the Grasper (Wham!)
- Queen of the Seas (Smash!)
- The Nervs (Smash!)
- Dare-a-Day Davy (Pow!)
- The Robot Maker (Cor!!)
- Faceache (Jet/Buster)
- Martha's Monster Makeup (Monster Fun/Buster)
- Tom Horror's World (Whoopee!)
He continued drawing Faceache until his death.
