Jungle wa itsumo Hale nochi Guu

Jungle wa itsumo Hale nochi Guu (Japanese: ジャングルはいつもハレのちグゥ) is a Japanese anime, based on an original manga. Twenty-six TV episodes were made, followed by two OVA sequels: Jungle wa itsumo Hale nochi Guu Deluxe and Jungle wa Itsumo Hale Nochi Guu Final.
The surreal, comical and occasionally serious series focuses on the story of a 10 year-old jungle boy named Hale (alt. Hare) and his misadventures with Guu, a young girl with apparent bipolar disorder, that threatens to eat anyone that stands on her way. Her stomach is a world, filled with buildings, hundred legged cats, and a nice young couple of lovers that have been trapped there for ages.
The usually patient and good-natured Hale's (whose name is slang for 'fair weather') is usually troubled with Guu's joy in creating chaos and, he is prone to anxious rants or tantrums. This is sometimes accompanied by a sudden downpour of rain.
Many characters in the series have names relating to weather (including, most obviously 'We-da'), and thus the show's title has a double meaning as sounding like a weather forecast (Mostly fair skies, but then Guu) and a normal title (The Jungle Was Nice, Then Came Guu). Many fans avoid translating the title simply refer to it as Hale Nochi Guu or (as the show does) HareGuu.
Unlike the manga, which was more focused on the romantic affairs of Weda (mother of Hale), the anime plot emphasises comedy and the "special" relationship between Hale and Guu. The OVAs are mostly a continuiation of the TV series, expanding upon it and answering unanswered questions.
The anime has been licensed for US release by ANEntertainment, with a tentative late summer release planned.
