John Cannis (born November 4, 1951) is a member of the House of Commons in Canada.
Born in Kalymnos, Greece, he was raised and educated in Toronto, Ontario. He was first elected as a Liberal candidate in the 1993 election in the riding of Scarborough Centre. He was re-elected in 1997, 2000, and 2004.
From 1999 to 2001, he was the Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Industry.
He is known for his efforts to deny, the Khadr family, re-entry into Canada, and public efforts to have them arrested.
He and his wife Mary, have three children, Irene, Paul, and Daniel.
