James Benning (film director)

James Benning (born 1942) is a film director. His films focus on a sense of place and are often built from long, unedited takes. He worked in Chicago but lately has been based on the West Coast.
Benning was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1942. His daughter is experimental filmmaker and musician Sadie Benning.
