Jack Black (actor)
|
Jack Black (born August 28, 1969) is a film and television actor, and a musician. He was born in Hermosa Beach, California and attended the University of California, Los Angeles; fellow UCLA alum Tim Robbins later casted him in Bob Roberts, his first film role. He also had recurring roles on the HBO sketch comedy series Mr. Show. He will star in the movie remake of King Kong by Peter Jackson in 2005 as Carl Denham.
He is the lead singer for the band Tenacious D. His singing style is often a strange scat-type of music. For example in "Wonderboy" one of his lines is "Rrrigga-gu-gu Rrrigga-gu-gu" or his long 2-part scat with fellow bandmate Kyle Gass in the song "Tribute."
The Internet Movie Database gives his real name as Thomas Black.
It is rumoured that Jack is cast for the lead in a movie adaptation of the DC Comics series Green Lantern
