Image talk:Odamaki.png
|
This image was created for Pokémon Tours (http://www.geocities.com/pokemontours) with the policy described there. It was posted here before, but was intended to later be used there, and then change the description to "from Additional Images of Professor Birch (http://www.geocities.com/pokemontours2/indexes/people/Hoenn/birch.htm)" The controversy seams to have been created because at the time that this was declared a copyright violation, a long time had past since it was posted here and it still hadn't been posted there. ("Here" meaning Wikipedia and "There" meaning Pokémon Tours (http://www.geocities.com/pokemontours))
This, however, has now been done, rendering the image property of Pokémon Tours (http://www.geocities.com/pokemontours) and, again according to their policy, it may be used by anyone as long as a link is provided to their page, which is being done through the external links. Thefore, I am putting this image back into circulation. --Fern 15:32, 31 May 2004 (UTC)
- You are claiming that the pokemon.com copyrighted image you modified for your fan site "Pokémon Tours" is now the property of that fan site? I'm sorry, Fernando, (and I'm not a lawyer either) but I don't think copyright works that way.
- "No material from this or any other Internet site owned, operated, licensed, or controlled by us or our affiliates may be copied, reproduced, republished, uploaded, posted, transmitted, or distributed in any way... you may download one copy of the materials on any single computer for your personal, noncommercial home use only, provided that you keep all copyright and other proprietary notices intact; no modifications are made to the materials..." http://www.pokemon.com/termsofuse.asp
- Presumably all the other "Pokémon Tours" images you've uploaded are in a similar situation: ie, suspected copyright violations. You are also in breach of Wikipedia procedures by deleting a copyvio notice before due process on the Wikipedia:Copyright problems page; I'll reinstate it for you. –Hajor 16:21, 31 May 2004 (UTC)
Sorry about that, I didn't know it was on Wikipedia:Copyright problems; otherwise I wouldn't have done it. Would say more about the copyvio itself issue, but it's around 10 at night where I am and I can't think straight.

- Fern, come on over to Copyright Problems -- Odamaki is at the bottom of the 26 May listings. Tell us where you got the picture and what you did to it, and with a bit of luck someone will explain whether or not that was valid. I think it wasn't, but these things are always better settled by several voices rather than two. OK, see you there? –Hajor 02:30, 1 Jun 2004 (UTC)
