Hyesan

Hyesan is a city in the northern part of the northern Yanggang province of North Korea. Main hub of river transportation, product distribution centre. Ryanggang Province administrative centre.

Geography
The city is located in the Paektu Mountains at the border with the People's Republic of China (Jilin province), from which it is separated by the Yalu River (Korean: Amnok River). Located in Ryanggang Province, the Amnok River upstream, separates Chengbai Korean autonomous county, People's Republic of China.
In 1915, the extreme lowest temperature is recorded -42 ℃, is coldest area of Korea, forest resources is rich.
Transportation
Connect by railway and the road.
Culture
It has Hyesan High School and Hyesan Girl ' s School.
Neighbor has Kwaegung Pavilion, Naegok Hot Spring and Mountain Paektu.
Industry
It has lumber processing mill, paper mill and textile mill.
