Hugh Bayley (born January 9, 1952 in Oxford) is a British politician. He is Labour member of Parliament for York, originally elected in the 1997 general election and successively re-elected in 2001 and 2005. He was a junior minister at the Department of Social Security from 1999 to 2001, but was sacked.
He resigned from the RMT union in 2002 after it said it would only fund MPs that agreed with its policies. Of the Labour MPs in parliament he is one of the most loyal to the party line, having only rarely rebelled when voting. He is married with two children.
