Hudson is a town located in Middlesex County, Massachusetts. As of the 2000 census, the town had a total population of 18,113.

History
Hudson was first settled in 1699 and was officially incorporated in 1866.
Geography
According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 30.7 km² (11.8 mi²). 29.8 km² (11.5 mi²) of it is land and 0.9 km² (0.3 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 2.87% water.
Demographics
As of the census2 of 2000, there are 18,113 people, 6,990 households, and 4,844 families residing in the town. The population density is 608.1/km² (1,574.4/mi²). There are 7,168 housing units at an average density of 240.7/km² (623.0/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 94.12% White, 0.91% Black or African American, 0.13% Native American, 1.40% Asian, 0.06% Pacific Islander, 1.40% from other races, and 1.98% from two or more races. 3.06% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 6,990 households out of which 32.0% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 56.7% are married couples living together, 9.2% have a female householder with no husband present, and 30.7% are non-families. 25.2% of all households are made up of individuals and 9.5% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.57 and the average family size is 3.11.
In the town the population is spread out with 24.0% under the age of 18, 6.7% from 18 to 24, 33.5% from 25 to 44, 23.6% from 45 to 64, and 12.2% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 37 years. For every 100 females there are 97.8 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 94.6 males.
The median income for a household in the town is $58,549, and the median income for a family is $70,145. Males have a median income of $45,504 versus $35,207 for females. The per capita income for the town is $26,679. 4.5% of the population and 2.7% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total population, 3.8% of those under the age of 18 and 8.7% of those 65 and older are living below the poverty line.
