Holmfirth

Holmfirth is a small Village in the Kirklees district of West Yorkshire, on the edge of the Peak District in Northern England.
There is a live webcam link of the village centre at:- |http://www.virtualhuddersfield.com/holmcam.htm (http://www.virtualhuddersfield.com/holmcam.htm)
An Aerial view of the village can be seen at:- |http://www.virtualhuddersfield.com/homair.htm (http://www.virtualhuddersfield.com/homair.htm)
There are two notable things that have ever happened in Holmfirth. These are:
- The overflow of Bilberry reservoir, and subsequent flooding of the Holme Valley, which caused many deaths in the early 20th Century.
- The long running BBC sitcom Last of the Summer Wine is set here.
Some would say it is well worth avoiding the area on a Sunday (or any public holiday when the weather is good), as the town becomes very busy during that time, with tourists.
