The PSG-1 ("Präzisions Scharfschützen Gewehr", german for precision sniper rifle) is a widely known semi-automatic sniper rifle designed by the German company Heckler und Koch. It has a long and outstanding reputation as an extremely reliable and high performance rifle, commonly associated with elite sniper units.
Its expected accuracy is 1 MOA and is one of the world's most accurate sniper rifles, capable of putting 50 rounds of match ammunition inside an 80mm circle at 300 meters.
All PSG-1s are free of iron sights but come mounted with the Hensoldt 6x42 scope with illuminated graticule, a heavy free-floating barrel and adjustable stock. The PSG-1 stock can be adjusted in all directions, to perfectly fit anybody using it. Furthermore it features a removable and adjustable trigger unit, for further individual perfection of the rifle.
Due to its high cost (9000 USD per rifle) and weight, the rifle has limited use outside of the police field.
