Halsey is a city located in Linn County, Oregon. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 724. It considers itself the grass seed capital of the world.

Demographics
As of the censusTemplate:GR of 2000, there are 724 people, 252 households, and 199 families residing in the city. The population density is 517.7/km² (1,352.9/mi²). There are 267 housing units at an average density of 190.9/km² (498.9/mi²). The racial makeup of the city is 91.30% White, 0.14% African American, 1.10% Native American, 0.14% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 4.83% from other races, and 2.49% from two or more races. 5.52% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 252 households out of which 38.5% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 65.5% are married couples living together, 8.3% have a female householder with no husband present, and 21.0% are non-families. 15.5% of all households are made up of individuals and 4.8% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.87 and the average family size is 3.18.
