HMS Queen Elizabeth
|
As of 2004, only one ship of the Royal Navy has carried the name HMS Queen Elizabeth, though other ships of the name were or are planned.
- The first Queen Elizabeth was the lead ship of the Queen Elizabeth-class of battleships, launched in 1913 and scrapped in 1948. She was named after Elizabeth I of England.
- It was planned to name the first of the CVA-01 class carriers as HMS Queen Elizabeth.
- Though unconfirmed, the second Queen Elizabeth is believed to be one of the planned CVF aircraft carriers.
