Goran Višnjić (born on September 9, 1972) is a Croatian actor famed for playing the role of Dr. Luka Kovač in the American television series ER; he joined ER in season six and as of 2005 remains on the cast. Višnjić is married to Ivana Vrdoljak, the daughter of Croatian director Antun Vrdoljak. Prior to ER, Goran Višnjić had already performed in films including The Peacemaker, Welcome to Sarajevo, and Practical Magic. Višnjić also appeared in the Madonna music video, "The Power of Goodbye."
Although he was selected by three American magazines as one of the 50 most desirable men, Višnjić continues to behave like a "boy from neighborhood" who likes more than everything else to spend the summer at the Adriatic coast together with friends from his childhood in Šibenik, Croatia, where he was born.
