Georges-Jean Arnaud

Georges-Jean Arnaud (born July 3, 1928) is a French author.
He was born in Saint-Gilles-du-Gard, Camargue, France.
Although his best known work is, without a doubt La Compagnie des glaces, a post-apocalyptic science fiction story set in a new ice age where railway companies rule the world, Arnaud is also the author of crime, espionage and fantasy fiction.
His work has earned a number of awards, including:
- 1952 : Prix du Quai des Orfèvres for Ne tirez pas sur l'inspecteur
- 1966 : Palme d'Or du roman d'espionnage for Les égarés
- 1977 : Prix Mystère de la critique for Enfantasme
- 1988 : Prix Apollo for La Compagnie des glaces
