George Burt (Britain)
|
George Burt (1816-1894) was a successful builder from Swanage, England who worked with and was the nephew of John Mowlem.
George Burt became a partner of Mowlem's construction company and took control of it in 1844.
He provided Swanage with a good water supply, gas, drainage and the railway.
Many architecturally interesting buildings and monuments in Swanage were scavenged as a result of the pair's construction work on prestigious projects in London.
