Gaddi Vasquez

Gaddi Vasquez is the Director of the United States Peace Corps. He is a Mexican American, and a native of Carrizo Springs, Texas.
Vasquez has worked in the public sector for 22 years, starting as a police officer for the city of Orange, CA. He later worked as deputy appointments secretary for George Deukmejian, followed by service as Chairman of the county Board of Supervisors for Orange County, California. It was during this time when the county declared bankruptcy. Vasquez resigned this position in 1994.
He was appointed as Director of Peace Corps by U.S. President George W. Bush on February 15, 2002.
