Frito-Lay is a maker of corn and potato chips and other snack foods.
Frito-Lay was the result of the merger of the Frito Company and H.W. Lay & Company in 1961. In 1965, a merger of Frito-Lay, Inc. and the Pepsi-Cola Company resulted in the formation of PepsiCo, Inc. Currently, PepsiCo operates the Frito-Lay Company, Tropicana Products and The Smith's Snackfood Company, along with the Pepsi-Cola Company.
Frito-Lay's product line includes such brands as Fritos, Doritos, Cheetos, Ruffles, Lay's, Funyuns, Rold Gold Pretzels, Baken-Ets (pork rinds), Tostitos, Walkers, and other brands.
Frito-Lay operates from Plano, Texas.
