Friedens is a census-designated place located in Somerset County, Pennsylvania. As of the 2000 census, the CDP had a total population of 1,673.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 8.1 km² (3.1 mi²). 8.1 km² (3.1 mi²) of it is land and none of the area is covered with water.
Demographics
As of the censusTemplate:GR of 2000, there are 1,673 people, 636 households, and 485 families residing in the CDP. The population density is 205.7/km² (533.1/mi²). There are 682 housing units at an average density of 83.9/km² (217.3/mi²). The racial makeup of the CDP is 99.34% White, 0.06% African American, 0.12% Native American, 0.18% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.06% from other races, and 0.24% from two or more races. 0.18% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 636 households out of which 37.3% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 64.9% are married couples living together, 6.6% have a female householder with no husband present, and 23.6% are non-families. 20.6% of all households are made up of individuals and 9.9% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.61 and the average family size is 3.00.
