Franka Potente (born July 22, 1974 in Dülmen, North Rhine-Westphalia) is a German actress.
Spotted by a casting agent at the age of 19, she studied at the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute in New York. After a notable debut in It's a Jungle Out There and two unconventional movies by Tom Tykwer, Potente starred in several Hollywood movies.
