Fort McKinley is an unincorporated community located in Montgomery County, Ohio. As of the 2000 census, the community had a total population of 3,989. It is a Census-designated place for statistical purposes.
Geography

According to the United States Census Bureau, the community has a total area of 3.4 km² (1.3 mi²). 3.4 km² (1.3 mi²) of it is land and none of the area is covered with water.
Demographics
As of the censusTemplate:GR of 2000, there are 3,989 people, 1,587 households, and 1,068 families residing in the community. The population density is 1,158.0/km² (2,994.3/mi²). There are 1,713 housing units at an average density of 497.3/km² (1,285.9/mi²). The racial makeup of the community is 43.44% White, 53.17% African American, 0.18% Native American, 0.35% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.55% from other races, and 2.31% from two or more races. 0.65% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 1,587 households out of which 31.3% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 39.3% are married couples living together, 23.6% have a female householder with no husband present, and 32.7% are non-families. 28.2% of all households are made up of individuals and 9.8% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.47 and the average family size is 3.00.
