Fort Lee is a census-designated place located in Prince George County, Virginia. As of the 2000 census, the CDP had a total population of 7,269.
Fort Lee is the home of the U.S. Army Women's Museum, with the mission "... to collect, preserve, research, exhibit and interpret historically significant properties related to service of women across all branches and organizations of the United States Army from inception to present day."[1] (http://www.awm.lee.army.mil/) The museum reopened on May 15, 2001 after moving from its original home at Fort McCellan, Alabama.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 21.6 km² (8.4 mi²). 21.6 km² (8.4 mi²) of it is land and none of the area is covered with water.
Demographics
As of the censusTemplate:GR of 2000, there are 7,269 people, 1,401 households, and 1,223 families residing in the CDP. The population density is 336.1/km² (870.2/mi²). There are 1,445 housing units at an average density of 66.8/km² (173.0/mi²). The racial makeup of the CDP is 39.46% White, 47.05% African American, 0.73% Native American, 2.34% Asian, 0.40% Pacific Islander, 6.67% from other races, and 3.36% from two or more races. 11.42% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 1,401 households out of which 72.8% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 70.0% are married couples living together, 14.3% have a female householder with no husband present, and 12.7% are non-families. 11.4% of all households are made up of individuals and 0.1% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 3.27 and the average family size is 3.53.
In the CDP the population is spread out with 27.9% under the age of 18, 34.0% from 18 to 24, 35.8% from 25 to 44, 2.1% from 45 to 64, and 0.2% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 22 years. For every 100 females there are 132.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 143.3 males.
The median income for a household in the CDP is $36,325, and the median income for a family is $40,197. Males have a median income of $27,511 versus $19,459 for females. The per capita income for the CDP is $12,448. 7.6% of the population and 6.3% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total population, 8.8% of those under the age of 18 and 0.0% of those 65 and older are living below the poverty line.
