Forest Park is a village located in Cook County, Illinois. As of the 2000 census, the village had a total population of 15,688.

Geography
Forest Park is located at 41°52'23" North, 87°48'40" West (41.873031, -87.811155)Template:GR.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 6.3 km² (2.4 mi²). 6.3 km² (2.4 mi²) of it is land and none of it is covered by water.
Demographics
As of the censusTemplate:GR of 2000, there are 15,688 people, 7,632 households, and 3,480 families residing in the village. The population density is 2,503.0/km² (6,480.8/mi²). There are 7,981 housing units at an average density of 1,273.3/km² (3,297.0/mi²). The racial makeup of the village is 56.14% White, 31.18% African American, 0.15% Native American, 6.83% Asian, 0.07% Pacific Islander, 2.80% from other races, and 2.82% from two or more races. 7.84% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 7,632 households out of which 21.9% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 28.9% are married couples living together, 12.8% have a female householder with no husband present, and 54.4% are non-families. 45.3% of all households are made up of individuals and 9.9% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.03 and the average family size is 2.94.
In the village the population is spread out with 19.8% under the age of 18, 7.9% from 18 to 24, 39.8% from 25 to 44, 20.3% from 45 to 64, and 12.2% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 36 years. For every 100 females there are 90.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 86.9 males.
The median income for a household in the village is $44,103, and the median income for a family is $52,611. Males have a median income of $39,402 versus $32,255 for females. The per capita income for the village is $26,045. 7.0% of the population and 6.3% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total population, 7.5% of those under the age of 18 and 6.7% of those 65 and older are living below the poverty line.
