Ferguson Township is a township located in Centre County, Pennsylvania. As of the 2000 census, the township had a total population of 14,063.
Geography
According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 124.5 km² (48.1 mi²). 124.5 km² (48.1 mi²) of it is land and none of the area is covered with water.
Demographics
As of the census2 of 2000, there are 14,063 people, 5,511 households, and 3,438 families residing in the township. The population density is 113.0/km² (292.6/mi²). There are 5,699 housing units at an average density of 45.8/km² (118.6/mi²). The racial makeup of the township is 87.88% White, 2.40% African American, 0.11% Native American, 7.44% Asian, 0.03% Pacific Islander, 0.58% from other races, and 1.56% from two or more races. 1.82% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 5,511 households out of which 30.5% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 55.2% are married couples living together, 5.5% have a female householder with no husband present, and 37.6% are non-families. 23.0% of all households are made up of individuals and 4.6% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.54 and the average family size is 3.00.
