The Village of Fayetteville is located in the Town of Manlius, east of the City of Syracuse in Onondaga County, New York. As of the 2000 U.S. Census, the village had a population of 4,190.

History
Fayetteville was incorporated in 1844 and named after the Marquis de Lafayette.
Geography
Fayetteville is located in Central New York, on U.S. Route 5, at 43°1'43" North, 76°0'15" West (43.028516, -76.004268)Template:GR.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 4.5 km² (1.7 mi²). 4.5 km² (1.7 mi²) of it is land and none of the area is covered with water.
Demographics
As of the censusTemplate:GR of 2000, there are 4,190 people, 1,830 households, and 1,141 families residing in the village. The population density is 935.1/km² (2,422.9/mi²). There are 1,901 housing units at an average density of 424.3/km² (1,099.3/mi²). The racial makeup of the village is 95.82% White, 0.62% African American, 0.14% Native American, 2.41% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.31% from other races, and 0.69% from two or more races. 1.15% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 1,830 households out of which 30.4% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 51.2% are married couples living together, 8.0% have a female householder with no husband present, and 37.6% are non-families. 33.2% of all households are made up of individuals and 12.1% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.29 and the average family size is 2.94.
In the village the population is spread out with 25.0% under the age of 18, 4.1% from 18 to 24, 28.5% from 25 to 44, 26.1% from 45 to 64, and 16.2% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 41 years. For every 100 females there are 87.7 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 84.3 males.
The median income for a household in the village is $50,598, and the median income for a family is $66,201. Males have a median income of $52,298 versus $31,011 for females. The per capita income for the village is $30,284. 2.2% of the population and 1.1% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total population, 0.7% of those under the age of 18 and 2.7% of those 65 and older are living below the poverty line.
