Erik Nevland

Erik Nevland (born November 10, 1977 in Stavanger, Norway) is a football player, who plays as a striker. He has one cap for Norway, and 22 caps at the U21 level. He is married to Brita and has one son. Nevland is 178 cm tall and weighs 74 kg.
He started his career at Viking F.K., but in 1997 he was sold to Manchester United at the age of 19, before he had played a single first team match for Viking. He never managed to establish himself in the United team, but had successful loan spells at Viking and IFK Göteborg. He returned to Viking on a permanent contract in 2000, winning the Norwegian cup final in 2001 and scoring the two deciding goals in Viking's famous European Cup victory over Chelsea F.C. in 2002. He joined FC Groningen on a free transfer in 2004 where he has become a cult hero.
