History
Engativá was a municipality of Cundinamarca. When Bogotá was conformed as Special District (today Capital District), Engativá was annexed.

Limits
Starting off of the intersection of the Bogota river with Yellow the Juan river, following by this one towards the East until finding the Salitre river and by this one until the crossing with the axis of race 68, by this one in direction the South-West until the axis of the Freeway the Gilded one, by this one until its intersection with the axis of the way of Engativá, by that and its prolongation until its crossing with the Bogota river, by this in North direction until the mouth of Yellow the Juan river with the river Bogota, point of partida.(Acuerdo 8 of 1977). It limits the north with Yellow the Juan river that separates it of the locality of Raises. To the east it is bordered by the Avenue 68, that serves to him as limit with the locality of United Districts. To the south the Eldorado Avenue and the old way of Engativá separate it of the Municipality of Fontibón. The West it limits with the Bogota river.
