Emerica is a skateboarding shoe manufacturer which is based in California, USA and owned by Sole Technology. Not unlike other shoe manufacturers (e.g. Nike), Emerica's revenues are generated both through its final product and sponsored professional team members. In terms of corporate merchandising, this means that while some shoes are marketed on the basis of physical characteristics alone (product name, colour, style, etc.) others are marketed more so on the team riders name and projected image. Accordingly, Emerica sells both standardized company logo shoes and slightly more specialized professional model shoes.
As of 2004, Emerica provides sponsorship not only for veteran riders such as Ed Templeton, Chris Senn and Erik Ellington, but also for rookie riders such as Kevin Long and Aaron Suski.
