Emergency vehicle
|
An emergency vehicle is any vehicle designed to respond to an emergency. Specialised equipment on board helps responders in their tasks, and sirens notify other motorists that they must by law pull over and clear the way. Emergency vehicles are usually dispatched from a centre that takes calls from an emergency telephone number, such as 9-1-1 or 1-1-2.
An emergency vehicle can be any of:
- a fire engine, carrying firefighters
- an ambulance, carrying paramedics
- a police car, carrying police officers
