The Elbe Sandstone Mountains (German Elbsandsteingebirge, Czech Labské pískovce) is a mountain range. It straddles the border between the states of Saxony (in south eastern Germany) and the Czech Republic. The name derives from the sandstone which was carved by the river Elbe.
