East Gippsland Shire

East Gippsland Shire is a Local Government Area in Victoria, Australia. It is located in the eastern part of the state. It includes the towns of Bairnsdale, Buchan, Lakes Entrance, Mallacoota, Metung, Omeo, Orbost and Paynesville. It has an area of 20,941 square kilometres. In 2001 it had a population of 40,600.
